Roland is a Regional Account Executive for AmeriPride / Aramark Corporation. Originally from Snyder, TX, Roland joined AmeriPride Services in 2012. He and his wife Ann are co-founders of Autism United. A non-profit organization supporting teachers and families with Autism. Roland has worked with United Way and on the Amarillo High School Band Board. Roland is a catechist instructor at St. Thomas Catholic Church. He is the father of two children, Hannah and Ryan.
Michael Gonzales is an Operations Supervisor for Atmos Energy and has worked for the company for over 12 years. He has held various leadership roles in Customer Service, Dispatch, and Operations. He was born and raised in Amarillo TX and graduated from Amarillo High School. He also graduated from Amarillo College and pursuing his bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration at Wayland Baptist University. Michael is married to his wife, Jacquelyn, and has a son, Christian, 8 years old and daughter Isabella, 2 years old.
Oscar Cremer is a Vice President of Commercial Lending at FirstBank Southwest. Oscar comes from Tulsa, OK and is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and earned his MBA at Southern Nazarene University. He has spent the last 15 years in the sales and finance industry, including business development for a national insurance company, and an Adjunct Professor of Business with Oral Roberts University. Oscar has served on the board of directors for local chambers of commerce and local churches in the Tulsa metro area and was nominated as a candidate for Bixby Citizen of the Year. He has a passion for business development and community growth

Yolanda Castillo is a native from Dumas but has lived in Amarillo for the past 12 years now. She has been employed with Happy State Bank for 7 years as AVP Branch Operations Manager of the Teckla location in Amarillo. Yolanda currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In previous years, she has volunteered for March of Dimes Signature Chef, Eveline Rivers Christmas Project, Hi-Plains Food Bank, Amarillo Chamber City Block Party, Meals on Wheels, United Way and Amarillo Parade of Homes. She also enjoys being involved in the community and getting to know new people. To Yolanda, the feeling of enriching others and knowing that she has a positive impact in other people’s lives is what motivates her. She has a nephew and a niece that she dearly loves spending time with. Yolanda also enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Gladys Cortes is a native of El Paso, TX. Gladys is the VP of Operations at the Cortes Agency – Farmers Insurance. She opened doors together with agent, Ruben Cortes, in April 2014. She has been actively involved with the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as of April 2018, & is Secretary on the Executive Board. Gladys alongside Ruben has one son, Ruben IV. They enjoy traveling, gardening & spoiling their English bulldog, Bubba.

A native from Muleshoe, Texas, Roy Bara attended West Texas State University in 1976 & 1977. Roy is married to Betty Faye Pedroza. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Roy opened the doors to his first restaurant “La Fiesta Grande” in Amarillo in 1983 and his second location in 1987. He specializes in Fine Mexican cuisine from Tex-Mex to authentic Mexican Food as well as gourmet food. His company also owns La Fiesta Grande Catering and Caterings by Roy. He serves on the Executive Board of the Amarillo Area Foundation as Treasurer and also as the chairman of the Board for the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation. Roy is the President of the Amarillo Opera and serves on the Executive Board of the Amarillo Symphony. He also serves on the Board of the Texas Restaurant Association.

Annette Asencio is a native of Hereford, TX. Annette is a SVP, Bank Operations Manager and BSA Officer for FirstBank
Southwest. She has over 34 years of banking experience. She currently oversees back office deposit processing,
electronic banking, identity theft prevention, Bank Secrecy Act compliance, vendor management and risk management.
She served as a representative for FirstBank Southwest on the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors from 2008 to 2015. She also served as Chairman of the AHCC Board in 2011 and 2012. She currently serves on
the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board.

This is my second time to serve on the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and I’m excited about the
path and future of the Chamber. In my role and General Manager of NewsChannel 10, Telemundo and Mundo FM this is
a perfect fit for our organizations to work together and make a positive impact in our community. I look forward to using
the past board experience and community service to help the board as needed. Connecting the people and needs is a
passion of mine and the mission of the Hispanic Chamber and our organization go hand in hand to empower the local
business community to connect with the regional hispanic community. As our town continues to grow, so do the needs
around us. This is the time for us all to work together to build a strong and vibrant community.
City of Amarillo
Michael is a lifelong resident of Amarillo; he is married and has three children. He has attended Amarillo College, West
Texas State University and is a recent Graduate as a Certified Public Manager from Texas Tech University. He is
employed with the City of Amarillo (26 years) and currently holds the position of Transportation Superintendent. He is
also a board member of Southwest AMBUCS and has participated in America’s Promise with AISD since 2000 and is
currently an advisor to Amarillo College Industrial Technology Program.
Darlene Saldivar is an Amarillo native and has been an employee of Pantex for 30 years where she currently is a Senior
Manager in the Supply Chain Management organization. She has served on the AHCC board for 12 years representing
Pantex and received the 2013 AHCC Board Member of the Year Award. She has been involved in the community
including Eveline Rivers Christmas Project, High Plains Food Bank, BATCH (Boxers Allied to Combat Hunger) and various
Pantex volunteer opportunities. She is married to her husband, Ernesto, and has three sons Alex-26, Fabian-20, and
Gabriel -17 who are all also active in the community and the AHCC.

A native from Dalhart, TX, Steve moved to Amarillo in 1984. Steve is a 29 year veteran at Budweiser and is the A.M. Shift
Supervisor in the warehouse. Steve has helped with the Eveline Rivers Christmas Project for many years and he is
involved with the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Drive.
La Fiesta Grande
Betty and her husband, Roy, have owned and operated La Fiesta for 32 years and they have 3 wonderful children and 4
amazing grandchildren. They have lived in Amarillo since 1983. Betty has served on many boards in the Amarillo area.
She has served on the Amarillo Area Foundation Internal Relationship Committee, Wesley Community Center Board,
Amarillo Opera Board, Amarillo Independent School District’s Citizens Facilities Committee, Girl Scouts Five Star Council,
and she is involved with many more community organizations. Education and Community are important to Betty.

Helen Burton has been District Sales Manager for Colonial Life since 2005. Helen has maintained one of the top sales districts for the Southwest Region. Helen served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves in the following: Amarillo Museum of Art Board of Directors, The Bridge, Colonial Hispanic Advisory Committee. Her community involvement includes: Los Barrios de Amarillo, Rotary and others. Helen has been a member of Grace Calvary for over ten years. She enjoys oil painting, reading, scrapbooking, and anything that allows her to be creative. Helen has one daughter, one granddaughter, and resides in Amarillo with her husband, Ray Burton
Manuel Tovar is the Director of Ethnic Marketing at Affiliated Foods Inc., with responsibilities for marketing programs, brand management and corporate sponsorships. Prior to Joining Affiliated Foods, he worked in strategic business development and marketing at several companies and served in different staff positions. Notable is his 11 years with HEB Supermarkets and his 5 years as Localized Manager. Manuel’s greatest strength is his creativity, drive and leadership. His most recent project involved a strategic program to increase the international product lines offered at Affiliated Foods. Manuel is past a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters in San Antonio and currently involved in Amarillo’s program. He has also been involved with United Way, YMCA, Church Organizations and many volunteer programs.
Reed Beverage of Amarillo
Jeremy Herrera is from Hobbs, New Mexico. He graduated from WTAMU with his Bachelor’s Degree in 2005 and Masters Degree in 2008. He has been employed with Reed Beverage “Coors “ since January of 2011 and currently holds the position of Key Account Executive. He has been serving on the AHCC board since 2011 and also severs on many boards to help many local agencies. He takes pride in serving to help promote education, help new or old business grow and serving his community.
Linda is an Amarillo native. She has 4 sons and 12 grandchildren. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has been with Xcel Energy for 14 years, where she holds a supervisor position for Residential Customer Service.

Melissa Smith is a native of Dimmitt, Texas. She is currently a Certified Paralegal at Lovell, Lovell, Isern & Farabough, LLP and has been with them for over 13 years. She handles immigration, personal injury and civil litigation cases and loves being in the courtroom. Melissa graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. She also does video/audio production and graphic design in her spare time. Melissa is also a member of Los Barrios de Amarillo and is involved in various community projects. She is married to Sergio and has 2 boys, Ivan and Edgar.
Amarillo National Bank
Asiria Torres and was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised in Mexico. She came to the United States at 17 faced many struggles. While working and paying her own way through school she was able to graduate from Palo Duro High School. She continued to work while perusing her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from West Texas A&M University. During that time, she met her husband and had her first child all while trying to finish her education. During her time at West Texas A&M University, she started working at Amarillo National Bank as an Internal Auditor and had her second child. Asiria is now the Mortgage Loans Servicing Collections Manager at Amarillo National Bank.
