Los Barrios started the Hispanic Heritage Luncheon several years ago then added other organizations such as LULAC and the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to assist as time went on.
The purpose of the event is to recognize, celebrate and honor the many contributions Hispanics have made in our community.
We encourage everyone in the community to participate in the nomination process!
Recognitions will be awarded as follows:
• 2018 Young Rising Star Award – A young student that has demonstrated leadership ability in their school, church and family and has exhibited strong leadership skills in the Hispanic community.
• 2018 Lifetime Heart of the Barrio Award – A person who has strong, consistent volunteerism in the Amarillo Hispanic community and has been dedicated to serving the Hispanic Community.
• 2018 Business Community Service Award – A business that has provided strong monetary support or encouraged community volunteerism.
• 2018 Hispanic Woman of the Year Award – A woman who has distinguished herself in an organization, her profession, and her community.
• 2018 Hispanic Man of the Year Award – A man who has distinguished himself in an organization, his profession, and his community.
