There is nothing else that could have made me prouder than knowing I made a great decision sending my son to your camps. We will definitely be back again.”

Panhandle Plains Historical Museum “The River and the Wall” Screening
Nov 19 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Canyon, Texas—On Tuesday November 19, the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum will screen “The River and The Wall” directed by Ben Masters. The free screening event will take place in the Hazlewood Lecture Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Following the documentary, there is a Q&A session with the director. Popcorn provided by Groovy Pop.

“The River and The Wall” encompasses the Texas borderlands in one film. Five friends venture on a 1,200-mile journey to document the Rio Grande in a race before the wall is built. They enter uncharted emotional territory by horse, canoe and a mountain bike journey.

“The River and the Wall is a film that is uniquely relevant to the panhandle plains. Not only does it cover the more obvious social and societal impacts of building a wall, but it covers the impact on the regional landscape that a wall would have,” said Samantha Biffle, programs coordinator. “Farmers and ranchers, especially, will find connections with the aspects of land management the film explores.” For a sneak peak, watch the trailer on Fin & Fur Films vimeo page or visit theriverandthewall.com.

“The River and The Wall” screening is a free event open to the public, donations welcome. For more information about “The River and the Wall”, please visit panhandleplains.org. All questions may be directed to Stephanie Price at sprice@pphm.wtamu.edu or 806-651-2235.
